Electronic Arts has announced that it will be publishing the next videogame from Guitar Hero developer, Harmonix.

David DeMartini, Vice President and General Manager of EA Partners, announced the new partnership at GDC. He stated how he was “fantastically excited to have a relationship with MTV and Harmonix”, but gave nothing away on what the relationship might yield.

Harmonix, who were recently purchased by MTV, are well known for their critically acclaimed, shred-em-ups Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. According to Harmonix’s CEO, Alex Rigopulos, “Guitar Hero is really just the tip of the iceberg; it’s the very beginning of what these kind of games can, and will, become”.
